YOGA: An expression of the body, mind and spirit

Yoga is transformational.  It awakens the self.  It is more than just moving the body into poses.  The nice thing about yoga is that is a practice that suits everyone.  Whether you have a desk job, run distances, are looking to lose weight or wanting to gain some flexibility, you can benefit from the physical practice of yoga.  The benefits for doing a yoga practice are numerous, from reducing stress, increasing mobility, improving balance and one more really important fact, it just makes you feel happier.

You are never too old or too young for yoga, but finding the right type of yoga for you is part of the experience.  Yoga can be restorative, yin, vinyasa and a combination.  It can also be centered solely on breath.  A regular practice aligns the muscles, bones and connective tissue to help the energy flow easily to support the organs and systems of the body such as digestion and respiration.   It can lessen chronic pain, improve sleep, lower blood pressure, increase muscle strength, improve posture and spine health, lower cortisol and stress levels and boost your immune system.

Even if you only practice once a week, you can feel the benefits from the breath work, the movement and the centered focus.  If you are looking to begin or develop a deeper practice, there are several ways in which I can assist you.   I offer private instruction, small group instruction and teach in  studios in Chatham, Livingston and Maplewood, NJ.   I also have available for purchase yin classes and yoga nidra digital recordings to play on your computer or phone.
